Deepan Veeraraghavan

Hi, I’m Deepan.

I’m a Design Manager with around 15 years of experience working across business analysis, UX, product design and design leadership.

I started my career as a Business Analyst, moved into UX at Cognizant, and later joined Agilysys as a founding designer. Over the years, I moved from designing individual experiences to working across products, design practices and teams.

A lot of my work has been around complex enterprise products — understanding how the business works, figuring out what users need, and turning that complexity into something people can actually use.

I still enjoy getting into the details of a product. At the same time, I like thinking about the bigger questions — what problem are we solving, what should the product become, and how can a design team do better work?

I keep learning

I try to make learning a regular part of my career, not something I do only when I need it.

Every few years, I pick an area and go deeper:

  • 2020Certified Usability Analyst, HFI
  • 2024Certified Scrum Product Owner
  • 2026Product Innovation with AI & Agentic AI

I also keep myself connected to the design and product community through UX conferences, meetups, podcasts, books and conversations with other designers and leaders.

Right now, AI and how it can influence products, business problems and product strategy is where I’m spending more time.

Outside work

There is a good amount of life outside design too.

I enjoy photography, spending time with my family, and playing games. Photography is something I particularly enjoy — getting out, exploring and capturing things that catch my attention.

I also like attending UX events and meeting people from the design community. Some of the best learning happens through these informal conversations.

What keeps me interested

After all these years, I’m still drawn to complex problems.

Understanding them. Asking questions. Finding a simpler way through them.

And then seeing that idea become something real — a product, a better experience, or a team that can solve the next problem on its own.
